Rodrigo Jorge used to be passionate about sports and running marathons—until one day, during a Krav Maga training session, he "blew out" his right knee. A ligament reconstruction was needed, but since Rodrigo has a strong dislike for surgeries and needles, it never happened. Instead, he turned his energy toward learning security and Oracle Database technologies in his spare time.
Fast forward a few years...
Rodrigo Jorge is now a Distinguished Product Manager in the Database Migrations, Upgrades, Patching & Utilities team. He is also a security-enthusiastic DBA, OCM Certified (12c/11g/MAA and Cloud), ex-Enkitec, and ex-Oracle ACE Director with more than 15 years of industrial experience in Oracle high-end technologies.
Before joining Oracle, Rodrigo worked as a Senior Consultant at many companies, including Accenture Enkitec, helping customers with their most critical Oracle Database and Engineered Systems challenges.
Still, he sometimes wonders if his knee just wanted him to upgrade from running marathons to databases.
